From 2004-2006, he was part of the Düsseldorfer Sinfonikern as part of their Academy program. He also played as an extra for Oper Frankfurt, the Norddeutcher Rundfunk Philharmonic, and the Bamberg Symphony. In 2008, Stephan was horn player in the city opera orchestra of Stuttgart.
